Paul is a Human Resources specialist with over twenty year’s experience across a wide variety of Industry sectors and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development. He left the London School of Economics in 1980 having completed both a Degree in Social Sciences and a Post Graduate Qualification in Human Resource Management. His first appointment was with BICC, specialists in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Civil Engineering and Construction. In 1985 Paul joined Siemens Energy and Automation Division in Congleton, Cheshire as Personnel Executive. Reporting to the site Personnel Manager he was responsible for providing a complete generalist HR service to over 700 Sales, Service and Administrative personnel. In October 1986 he transferred to Ferranti Measurements a wholly owned subsidiary of Siemens plc as Human Resources Manager. During his seven years with the Company which latterly became Siemens Measurements Limited the business was transformed from a predominantly electro- mechanical manufacturing facility to a “State of the Art” solid-state manufacturing operation including PCB and automated product assembly. This transformation involved a major change in the people strategies of an organization that at its height employed circa 700 staff. In 1994, Paul joined Siemens Nixdorf Information Systems (SNI) as Personnel Director. In this role he had full HR responsibility for the UK Company employing over 1500 staff across all business areas. He was a leading player in the SNI Corporate Culture Change Programme acting as “Culture Change Champion” for the UK Business. During his time at SNI he also facilitated the development of Siemens Business Services, recruiting the UK Management team after the formal establishment of this new UK Company in May 1995. In 1996 Paul was transferred to the International HR co-ordination and assignments group reporting to SNI Corporate HQ in Munich. In this role he was responsible for special projects in the areas of Incentives, Headcount Reporting, Succession Planning and International Job Evaluation. In January 1997 Paul transferred to the International Outsourcing Group of Siemens Business Services providing full HR Management and Consultancy support in the creation of new SBS Outsourcing units across Europe. This responsibility included the recruitment of Senior Management both in the Countries and International team as well as the establishment of “best practice” processes and procedures for the newly created Outsourcing Services businesses. Following a change in the SBS organization effective October 1998, Paul took on the additional responsibilities of HR Director – International where he was responsible for providing a full HR service to the Executive Management for SBS Europe /ASP. In January 2001 as part of his personal development Paul stepped out of HR operating in a line Management role as Regional Operations Manager for SBS Asia Pacific. During the latter half of 2003 with the advent of the Siemens HR BPO initiative he transferred to the new unit initially, as Project Manager for business strategy prior to taking on his current role as General Manager HR BPO in March 2004. |
